Short version: we hold what you type into our forms, we use it to connect you to your chapter, we do not sell it, and you can have it deleted by asking.
What we never ask
We do not ask about your immigration status. Not on any form, not in any conversation, and there is no field for it anywhere in this site. If anybody claiming to represent us asks you for it, they are not representing us.
What we hold when you join
- Your name and email address.
- Your phone or WhatsApp number, if you give one.
- Your city and state, so we can match you to a chapter.
- Where you are in the journey, and either when you arrived or when you are arriving.
- Anything you told us would help most.
- Whether you agreed to be contacted, and the date you joined.
Who sees it
The team running your chapter, and national leadership. Nobody else. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anybody outside the organisation.
When you ask a question
We hold the question, your email address so we can tell you when it is answered, and your name if you gave one. Once answered, the question and the answer are published on that chapter page so the next person does not have to ask. Your name is never published with it, and you can ask us not to publish the question at all.
We email you when you join, when a chapter opens near you, when your chapter puts something on, and when a question you asked is answered. That is all. Reply to any of them and ask to stop, and we stop.
Having it deleted
Ask, and we delete it. You do not have to give a reason. Answers you have written that are published on a chapter page stay, because other people rely on them, but your name comes off.
