What we promise

That membership is free. That a real person, not a system, answers a question asked through this site. That we will tell you honestly when there is no chapter in your city rather than pretending otherwise.

What we do not promise

The people answering are volunteers who live in the city you are asking about. They are giving you their experience, not professional advice, and they may be wrong. Anything touching immigration, law, tax, medicine or money should be checked with somebody qualified before you act on it.

Businesses and services listed on a chapter page were put forward by members. Listing is not a guarantee, and we do not take payment for it.

What we ask of you

That what you write here is true and your own. That you treat the volunteers as volunteers. That you do not use this site to sell to members, to collect money, or to gather contact details for anything other than what people gave them for.

What you write here

An answer or a guide you write stays on this site if you stop being a member or stop running a chapter. It was written to help whoever asks next, and removing it when somebody leaves would punish the people it was written for.

Your name comes off on request, and everything else about you is deleted on request. What stays is the answer, unattributed, because other people rely on it.

If you believe something you wrote is now wrong or has been edited into something you would not say, tell us and we will remove it rather than argue about it.

Chapters

Chapters are part of the organisation rather than separate bodies. A chapter cannot take money in the organisation’s name, sign anything on its behalf, or speak for it publicly without agreement from national leadership.
